First Winner Certificate of Policy Brief Competition

We created a policy brief titled "ESG-Based Geospatial Analysis in Risk Mitigation of Infrastructure Development." This brief explores the potential and policy gaps in utilizing the One Map Policy (OMP) platform. The study highlights that while the quality of GIS data is adequate, there is a lack of technical guidelines for data utilization, and the integration into the OMP platform is suboptimal for fulfilling ESG criteria. The policy brief focuses on the case study of Rempang Eco City, an innovation in investment outlined in PSN Permenko Perekonomian No.8 Year 2023. It addresses key problems such as the conflict arising from relocating residents to the relocation area in Tanjung Banun and environmental issues that have hindered investment in Phase 1. The analysis concludes that determining the urgency and policy direction for development locations is crucial. To solve these issues, it recommends mitigation and risk reduction strategies for the development of Rempang Eco City. The brief emphasizes the need for a collaborative platform that can drive the creation of an open and innovative geospatial environment to analyze investment risks effectively.
